Bursary Fund for Women Dharma Teachers
At Taraloka we feel enormous gratitude for all the generosity and support we have received and continue to receive, from so many Dharmacharinis (women who are members of the Triratna Buddhist Order) over the last twenty years or more. To honor this, in 2008, we set up a Taraloka Bursary Fund to support Dharmacharinis develop their Dharma teaching skills.
Every year we give £3000 to this bursary fund, which can be applied for by any Dharmacharini to:
- cover the cost of going on a retreat which would help their study or meditation teaching skills
- help with attending general training events that they think would help their Dharma teaching skills
We award the bursaries three times a year at Taraloka Council Meetings and need to have received applications by January, May and September. If you would like to be considered then please contact Alokada, our bursary secretary. In view of the number of requests we are receiving, the maximum bursary given to any applicant will be £500.
