Give to all the women who come to Taraloka, and have a great week yourself!
Generations of women have worked on Taraloka's buildings and landscape since its beginnings in 1985. Coming on a work retreat is joining a lineage of generosity that brought Taraloka into being and allows it to continue. And they're fun!
Work retreats are a great way to make Sangha friends, and to blur the boundaries between work and our spiritual practice. They're unexpectedly transformative as retreat experiences. See the mythic in the mundane, and carry change over into your daily life!
We follow a retreat programme including a strong mythic context for the work. Living as a Buddhist spiritual community for that period, we mix periods of meditation, work and ritual throughout the day.
You don't need any skills, just willingness to help. These retreats are invite-only, but if you're interested, email Taraloka office or ring up. You need to be in good physical and mental health to come on a work retreat – do ring up to discuss this if you're unsure if it's suitable for you.
There is no charge for work retreats – you are giving through your work. If you would like to donate to cover food and expenses, that would be welcome, but don't let it stop you coming!
