Taraloka sits in 7 acres (about 3 hectares) of
farmland. The areas immediately surrounding the buildings have been gradually transformed into gardens. Over the years we have planted lots of trees, especially native hardwoods. There is still a
large area of land which might seem best suited, at present, to growing nettles and molehills!
In 2003 we invited two landscape architects to help us develop our landscape.
In 2004 we implemented the first stage of this new design: creating some ritual spaces, forming a small lake and two earth banks.
By 2005 the site is maturing with grasses and wild flowers.
