Mindfulness Matters: Tools for Everyday Use

No prior experience of meditation is necessary.

22-27 April 2007

    This retreat is especially appropriate for people who have experienced periodic bouts of stress or depression and actively wish to make changes in the way they approach life. Based on the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, we will use meditation, mindful stretching, and strategies to help us learn to handle our thoughts feelings and body sensations. By gaining awareness of mild states of distress we can learn to prevent the cycle of pain-stress-depression from spiralling out of control.

Suggested donation: £1180/£140/£110

NB: this retreat is not for people who are acutely ill or who wish to be passive recipients of support and advice. Nor is it a substitute for professional therapy.
