Sesshin

A Sesshin is a very attractive, popular intensive meditation retreat drawing on the Zen Buddhist tradition.  It is a rare opportunity for developing deeper awareness and a quiet appreciation. Longer periods of meditation comprise shorter sitting and walking meditations and some ritual. Everything becomes a spiritual practice: walking in the beauty of the landscape, helping with work, hearing a talk, or appreciating Zen poetry.  The Sesshin gradually develops into about 4 days of continuous silence with meditation periods before breakfast, mid-morning, late afternoon and evening. The retreat is suitable for experienced meditators and those who are relatively new to meditation.
