Writing from Experience and Imagination

Led by Siddhisambhava and Satyagita

6th - 13th October

This retreat encourages us - through both meditation and writing - to face our experience, explore our truth(s) and develop our creativity.   No previous experience of meditation or creative writing is necessary.   Meditation instruction will be given to (suit) both complete beginners and those  with an established practice.

The day will begin with a session of meditation, with another one late afternoon, before supper.  Mornings will be writing workshops, afternoons will be unprogrammed ie time to simply relax,  or write more under your own steam.  The evenings will be a mixture of more writing (games), readings and some discussion, or another session in the shrineroom, either meditation, or puja (devotional practice).

Siddhisambhava has worked in magazine, newspaper and book  publishing, has taught creative writing for the WEA in north Wales and is currently doing a creative non-fiction course with the Open College of the  Arts.  Satyagita has been both a student and tutor on the creative writing diploma course at UEA and currently works at the Norwich Buddhist Centre.  They are old friends looking forward to spending a scribbly week together - come and join them!
