Projects for the FutureBuilding Projects Get the Go-AheadOver the past five years we have made a lot of changes to our programme and, happily, that has led to us building our financial reserves quite substantially. So in February we had a very enjoyable Taraloka council meeting when we allocated £50,000 from the reserves to building and upgrading projects this year. We have kept June free of retreats and most of the work will be done then. So if you come after June you'll see some changes ..... Our two loft rooms have served us very well over the years but we know that sleeping in rooms with six or seven people in them has its drawbacks! So the main project in June will be renovating the lofts to create a small sitting area and six smaller bedrooms: one for four people, and the others for one or two people each. We've given the job to Paul whose local firm did such a good job on building the Tara cabin for us. There will be a new spiral staircase fire exit from the back of the loft rooms down into the gardens. And we're going to take the opportunity to upgrade the toilet in the lofts and install better lighting in the main shrineroom underneath the lofts. We're having some needed upgrading and repairs done to the support team office and the community buildingsā¦. new doors, new guttering, and renovated porch outside the kitchen. And, as well as all that, Sanghajivani is going to run a work retreat in June with a team of willing helpers to carry on decorating the rest of the retreat centre and doing some work out in the grounds.
