Enhancing our Lives with Compassion (2018)
'Compassion is that which makes the heart of the good move at the pain of others.'
What is the Buddha's teaching on compassion?
What does modern science tell us about it?
How can we have compassion for ourselves in our daily lives?
How can we nourish ourselves while caring for others even in difficult circumstances?
How can we respond more compassionately to the suffering in the world without being overwhelmed by it?
Explore these questions with us through meditation, talks, discussions, workshops and periods of silence.
Using as our basis mindfulness meditation and loving kindness (metta) practice we will look at how we can develop compassion to support ourselves and others in our daily lives.
We will also explore these questions in the light of the recently developed science of compassion and current research in neuroscience.
