Spring Intensive: Longing for Tara
Tara: Beautiful goddess, Moon of Wisdom, Protector, Midnight Star. This intensive meditation retreat will explore the many forms and qualities of Tara; her compassion, fearlessness and spontaneity.
The week will be full of devotion and offerings as we dedicate ourselves to Tara’s vision, and hopefully receive her blessings. The retreat will be held mainly in silence, and will have a strong emphasis on the collective aspects of practice. By honouring this collective dimension, the body of the retreat, we can create the ground upon which the heart of Tara - as Bodhichitta – can arise.
Set in the middle of Spring, we will contemplate the loveliness of her realm as it mantles itself in green.
Maitridevi: My love of Tara arose from an image of the earthy depths rising up in response to the Dharma – an image of Tara as earth goddess. I am interested in working with the body, heart and imagination in playful and experimental ways that connect Buddhism the ground of our being.
