ONLINE: Stories of Wisdom, Stories of Life CANCELLED
Stories call to us and reveal the universal wisdom of human experience. On this retreat, alongside Buddhist practice, we will use ancient myths and stories to help us connect with, and explore, our own lives and history. These stories will be brought to life through storytelling and puppetry.
We will have as our story a re-visioning of a Jataka tale set in a forest. “The Brave Little Robin”. On a first hearing this story appears to be deceptively simple. Yet I believe there are many layers to it and it feels to be very relevant to the situation we currently find ourselves in. As the Jataka story itself presents, we will explore how we are when we’re faced with our fear and look to find ways to resource ourselves. We will immerse ourselves in its imagery, exploring our responses through led somatic meditations and presentations. There will be times to be creative, times to share with each other, as well as an evening ritual each day.
Also we will explore how with zoom we can still connect with our bodies, our felt sense and with each other. Together we will create a supportive context within which to practice and dwell in the magic of the archetypal.
