Team Changes and News
Community News April 2007
At present there are eight of us in the community, although we are
without Parami this month as she is in Spain visiting the Valencia sangha.
Lindsay Hannah joined us in January and is working mainly on the
"front desk" .... if you ring us, it will probably be Lindsay
who answers.
Hazel and Sanghajivani have just led a weekend retreat on
their favourite pastimes: vegetarian cooking and nutrition; and
gardening. The cooking enthusiasts cooked for gardeners so everyone
was happy.
Ratnasuri had her 84th birthday on 1st April.
Visitors to the community
We have a couple of people who are regular visitors to our community.
Irene Maddocks works a day a week for us looking after the finances;
and, every few weeks, Jan France comes all the way from Sheffield and
spends a few days looking after the retreat centre gardens. And Sharon
O'Brien from the Cardiff sangha is with us for six months till
end of August .... she's a whizz with our DIY tools and is a big help
with our maintenance jobs.
Tarasiddhi contacted us recently to ask if she could stay for a few
months this summer. She will be here in July and August (maybe
September) helping Saddhanandi and Kulaprabha in the retreat team side
of things and occasionally being called upon by our support team to
help them out too. We're very happy to have her here with us -
especially Kulaprabha who has a very long-standing friendship with
Tarasiddhi.
Ordinations
Kulaprabha and Parami will both be on the first ever ordination
retreat at Akashavana. Kulaprabha will go over to privately ordain
Enid Park from Glasgow and Parami will be there to be the public
preceptor for Enid and several others. Sadhu to the Akashavana
Community for all their hard work in getting the place ready to
welcome the ordinands!
