What is a Retreat?In the bustle of modern life, we often have no time to stop and reflect. A retreat is an ideal space in which to take a fresh look at ourselves and our life. It is also an opportunity to relax more deeply and enjoy time without the responsibilities of everyday life. Our Introductory Events are aimed particularly at those just starting a meditation practice. Using workshops, talks, discussion groups and meditation guidance we will explore two foundation practices: the Mindfulness of Breathing and the Mettabhavana. Clear meditation instruction will be given, as well as a broader sense of how meditation can affect our whole lives. Ideally you would learn both meditations, as they are complementary to one another. A daily retreat programme would be something like this:
