I first came across Vipassana meditation when I was studying the Performing Arts and
Yoga in my home country of Ireland. After practising with a couple of other lineages
of Buddhism, I started frequenting the Triratna Dublin Buddhist Centre. I’ve been a
creative arts teaching assistant at a Steiner school, and before that my career was in
the field of arts and health, using theatre and movement methods to work with older
adults and children.

As time went on and my spiritual practice was deepening I realised I needed to
immerse myself more in a context that supported me with meditation, ethics and
understanding existence. So I became part of the support team at the Dublin Buddhist
Centre, then moved to Cambridge to be part of a Buddhist team-based right livelihood
business, New View Lettings. And now I’ve made the move to Taraloka!

In my personal practice I am very drawn to the symbolic Five Buddha Mandala,
especially Amoghasiddhi, embodiment of fearlessness. Engaging with these mythic
figures has helped me tap into and perceive the mystery and magic and beauty that is
life… Somehow they allow me to use and develop my imagination in a way that helps
me transcend old patterns and views that no longer serve me or others well. I have
huge gratitude and appreciation to have been gifted this opportunity.
