ONLINE: Drawing Strength from the Songs of the Sisters: The Great Gathering 2020
The Great Gathering can’t happen in the flesh, but join us online – make this long weekend a home retreat for yourself! Talks, meditations & pujas posted each day on Taraloka’s Youtube channel – practise alongside the Taraloka and Tiratanaloka communities. You can fit this event into your life – but if you can commit to following the whole programme (see 'Read More'), how marvellous! There are two ways of participating in this event:
1. Each day, Taraloka and Tiratanaloka are offering talks and led meditations which will be freely available on Taraloka’s Youtube Channel. Dip in and out, participate in as much or as little as you like.
2. Each day of the event, we are also offering the chance to participate in live Zoom pujas, sometimes including a short meditation, alongside the Taraloka or Tiratanaloka communities – as well as the other retreat participants. The Zoom places are limited, so please only book a place if you are able to attend at least three out of the four events. Book this event as usual, see programme details in 'read more'.
Taraloka currently has no income due to lockdown. We're asking for donations to sustain both Taraloka and Tiratanaloka at this time. The suggestions for this event are £40 (waged)/ £20 (unwaged) - we'll share whatever we receive for this event. Please give if you can - if not please join us anyway! https://www.taraloka.org.uk/donate
We will be exploring the songs of the Enlightened female disciples of the Buddha, some of the oldest sacred verses in history. From courtesans to mothers, old women and young, these songs give testament to how the Dhamma life is lived in practice. All the struggle and joy of practice is here. We can draw strength and inspiration from that lineage of women who have walked the path that we follow.
Led by Tiratanaloka and Taraloka.
