We are earthy embodied creatures, with a consciousness vast as the skies. Our practice must hold these two poles and the passionate heart that lies between, in order for the Bodhichitta to arise. Much of our spiritual lives is about finding ways to sit with the extraordinary paradoxes of our existence, to learn to live in this complex and chaotic world with vibrancy, stillness and a tender open heart.

This retreat is an invitation to live a simple authentic life, in a silent community with other women on the path to ordination. We will practise with our bodies, our voices and our hearts, as we immerse ourselves in a realm of meditation, myth and ritual.

The Total Immersion retreat has been a popular and distinctive intensive meditation retreat in Triratna for over a decade. Our programme will include daily meditation instruction, body-work, time in nature, rituals, and walking and sitting meditation outside. There will also be opportunities for meditation reviews.

This intensive silent meditation retreat is for experienced meditators.

Paying for your retreat

Taraloka runs on generosity.

To book a retreat you pay a booking fee. This is the only charge made for coming on retreat. We want Taraloka retreats to be available to any woman, whatever her financial situation.

At the end of your retreat, you have the opportunity to give money towards Taraloka. If you are able to donate, you are giving to another woman who otherwise could not afford to come on retreat. And you are helping to give the gift of Taraloka to the women of the future.
