I’m Dharmakarunya (‘she whose compassion is from the Dharma’). I was ordained in 2014 and live in Manchester. I met the Dharma in 2004 and one of my earliest retreats was at Taraloka. It had a profound effect on me and I’ve returned very regularly either as a retreatant or to support retreats. I used to be an academic and left a senior university career to live a fuller Dharma life. I’m very involved in the running of Manchester Buddhist Centre as a trustee and have been a Dharma teacher there since 2012. An Amitabha practitioner, my aspirations for practice are to cultivate ever deeper compassion and discriminating wisdom.
