The nearest train station is Whitchurch (Shrops or Salop). There are two other Whitchurch stations in the UK so make sure you get the right one! Our Whitchurch is about a 25 minute local train journey south from Crewe or north from Shrewsbury. It’s about 20 minutes from here by road to the two nearest train stations.

Retreatants with access needs

Whitchurch station only has a footbridge to access the southbound platform (arriving from Crewe, heading towards Shrewsbury).  If you would not be able to manage steps, the train company has a duty to arrange alternative accessible transport, typically a taxi which they pay for, so that you can complete your journey without having to use the inaccessible route.  You arrange this by contacting ‘passenger assist’ with whichever train operator you’ve booked with.  The northbound platform (arriving from Shrewsbury, going towards Crewe) has flat access.

When do retreats start and finish?
Our retreats begin with supper at 6.30pm.   Please arrive any time after 4.30, to give yourself time to settle into your room, unpack and have a cup of tea. We are always grateful if people are able to come for 4pm to help chop vegetables for supper.  Please let the office know if you are able to do this.  If you are going to be late, please let us know.  Most weekend retreats finish at around 2.30pm, including our long weekend retreats. Longer retreats finish at around 10.15am. Please check your booking confirmation letter for the definite starting and finishing times of your retreat.
