Taravandana first met the Dharma at Taraloka on a Newcomers Weekend in 1988 and has been coming back here for retreats regularly ever since. She says: “I have been leading retreats for about 15 years, and something I really enjoy is meditation and sharing its benefits with others. I helped set up a Triratna Group in Lancaster and then, once my son left home, I moved to Manchester to live in a Women’s Community and get involved in the Manchester Buddhist Centre Sangha. I’m keen on leading study and befriending women so that together we can all grow and develop. I was ordained in 2000 and my name means ‘She who worships, delights and rejoices in Tara and her qualities’.T
