Dakini: Dancing with Life 2025

Dakini: Dancing with Life 2025

25 Jul - 1 Aug 2025
Led By: Moksanandi, Candrika, Shraddhasara

What would it be like to be completely free?
Look into the mirror of your mind…
The mysterious home of the dakini.
(Naropa)

The Dakini – pure openness, naked energy, red love, sensitive freedom, an ungraspable dance in the fires of transformation. Explore how this Tantric symbol of awakening can bring us into intimate connection with our body-heart-mind in meditation and ritual, living ever more authentically in the flow of life.

This retreat is suitable for people with a familiarity with Buddhist ritual and puja.

Please note that during this retreat a new office will be being built (on the opposite side of the carpark to the retreat centre). There will be some noise.

The Dakini is a rich symbol of freedom and transformation. She is indefinable, and bursts through all distinctions -good/bad, self/other, conform/rebel -through direct contact with the reality of experience. She overflows with love for all that lives; she is naked to the exquisite vividness of life; she is potent receptive presence; she is the dance of communication.

This retreat will create the space for us to relax into being more present and open-hearted, giving us a chance to meet the dakini. We’ll evoke her with short talks and rituals and listen for the warm breath of the dakini’s whisper in meditation and 2-3 days of silence.

Suggested donation (in addition to the booking fee): £365 waged / £250 unwaged

Paying for your retreat

Taraloka runs on generosity.

To book a retreat you pay a booking fee. This is the only charge made for coming on retreat. As far as possible, we don’t want anyone’s financial situation to stop them from coming to Taraloka.

At the end of your retreat, you have the opportunity to give money towards Taraloka. If you are able to donate, you are giving to another person who otherwise could not afford to come on retreat. And you are helping to give the gift of Taraloka to the women of the future.

We have suggested donations as these reflect the basic income needed to make a retreat viable. However, they are only suggestions. It is genuinely fine to give ten times these amounts, nothing, or anything in between.

Running on generosity is radical – thank you for being part of that.
