Rest with Earth. Flow with Water. Burn with Fire. Breathe the Air. Open to Space. Awaken in Consciousness.  A retreat for those who want to experience the Dharma through the body, awakening to the living elements within us and all around us.

  • Welcome each day with Tai Chi outdoors, moving the elements within the body within the landscape of Taraloka.
  • Focusing on one element each day and following the rhythm of sitting and moving meditation, allow its qualities to deepen through silence, simplicity and direct experience.
  • Explore each element through creative somatic movement and chanting, discovering its energetic qualities beyond concepts alone.
  • Each evening, enter the world of the Five Buddha and Prajñā Mandala through ritual, colour, symbol and elemental practice.

Journey through Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space, culminating in a celebration of the interdependence of all six elements within consciousness. Discover how the same elements that shape the mosses, rocks, trees and skies of Taraloka are the very elements that shape our own bodies, revealing our profound interconnectedness with the living world.

Paying for your retreat

Taraloka runs on generosity.

To book a retreat you pay a booking fee. This is the only charge made for coming on retreat. As far as possible, we don’t want anyone’s financial situation to stop them from coming to Taraloka.

At the end of your retreat, you have the opportunity to give money towards Taraloka. If you are able to donate, you are giving to another person who otherwise could not afford to come on retreat. And you are helping to give the gift of Taraloka to the women of the future.

We have suggested donations as these reflect the basic income needed to make a retreat viable. However, they are only suggestions. It is genuinely fine to give ten times these amounts, nothing, or anything in between.

Running on generosity is radical – thank you for being part of that.
