Taraloka

The Taraloka Operations Team

The Ops Team runs the essential practical day-to-day aspects of making Taraloka happen.  This includes bookings and administration, bookkeeping, kitchen, maintenance, gardening, housekeeping, and cleaning.   All the longer-term Ops Team members have a particular role.

But everyone pitches in with shared tasks like liaising with and cooking for retreats; cleaning and setting up the retreat centre; doing dana appeals; helping with mowing and covering for other team members when they are away.

you and the Taraloka Ops Team

You might be interested in giving back to Taraloka for 3- 9 months.  Or you might be considering coming for an initial year, to explore whether you’d like to live and work here longer term.

We try to be flexible within the team to meet individuals’ aptitudes so that each of us has roles we enjoy (at least mostly!) and it’s a friendly, supportive atmosphere.

Most of us are doing jobs we’d never done before.  Willingness to learn, and an ability to get on with people is more important than previous experience!

You also get to support Taraloka retreat teams as organiser, and have the opportunity to run work retreats.  You’re supported financially and with time off to attend retreats with 40 days / year annual leave.

Who can apply?

You need to be a Going For Refuge Mitra or Dharmacharini (Who is suitable?)

You will need to be fairly fit and well and able to work full time.

If you’re wanting to come longer term, a full UK Driving Licence is ESSENTIAL.

A full financial support package is available.

Get in touch to find out more (recruitment@taraloka.org.uk), ask for an application form, find out about the financial support package, or just for an informal chat to explore your interest.
